After an unprecedented and challenging year for the majority of people around the world, we wanted an opportunity to celebrate what we can. Despite difficult times, there is always plenty that can be celebrated and we'd like to bring a positive spin to the end of 2020 and focus on this where possible.
We want to celebrate the little things, the big things and the things that really matter when life doesn't go as planned. Love, family, community and nature to name a few in the broader sense. Do get involved and leave us some comments on the things you love to celebrate!
Before we open submissions for this issue, we'd like to invite you to enter our cover contest. The winner will not only have their image on our next cover but also wins...

We'll be finalising our categories soon but the following list of examples should give you an idea of the sort of things we might be looking for on our cover this time around. Please submit portrait images only.
We plan to have categories celebrating:
The World - nature, travel, cultures, the weather...
Holidays - Christmas, Hanukkah, Halloween, Chinese New Year, Diwali, Eid... (The magazine will be coming out in December but we're happy to include all sorts of holiday celebrations from the whole year!)
Each Other - think connection, love, weddings, families, communities, birthdays...
The Everyday - the beauty in everyday life and routines
Yourself - self-portraits, achievements, individual strengths...
Food - what's a celebration without food?! Maybe food is the celebration!
Street - what celebrations are happening in your local streets? Carnivals, processions, street parties...
We will of course be accepting submissions from any year as so many celebrations were unable to go ahead in 2020. Inspire us and let's all remind ourselves of what we have to hope for and look forward to in years to come.
Of course we'll have our regular galleries too - Details and Light Relief and we'll try to think of some more creative, unexpected categories to include among the broader subjects.
To enter the cover contest you can post on Instagram using the hashtag #TDLCoverContest2 OR on Facebook by commenting on the pinned GIF image you see above which will go live this evening.
There are NO limits to how many you can enter.
You have one week to submit your entries and the winner will be announced in our Facebook group first, you can join here.
By entering you consent to our T&Cs.
We're looking for portrait orientation, something striking and with space for text overlays.
